Veronica McLymont is a Registered Dietitian, and Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist. She holds a Bachelors degree in Foods and Nutrition from Brooklyn College, a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Hunter College, and a Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She is currently the Director of Food and Nutrition Services at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where she successfully launched the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Nutrition Care Process and Model that enabled clinical dietitians to make nutrition diagnoses, and use a standardized process for nutrition documentation. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College.In 2008, Dr. McLymont was voted a Trend Setter by The American Society for Health Care Foodservice Administrators.In 2011, she was recognized as one of the 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business by The Network Journal.In 2013, she received the Isabelle A. Hallahan award for Excellence in Foodservice Management from the New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Association.She implemented the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene’s Healthy Hospital Food Initiative, for which Memorial Sloan Kettering was awarded a silver and gold star.
Dr. McLymont is the author of a chapter on “Nutrition Care of the Cancer Patient” in a Cancer Rehabilitation text book, and has co-authored several research articles. She is sought after as a resource and has given numerous lectures on nutrition and leadership related topics.
Dr. McLymont is a former President of the Westchester/ Rockland/Dietetic Association. She is currently the President of the New York Chapter of the Association for Healthcare Foodservice, and the Director at Large for the Management in Foodservice Systems Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is sought after as a resource on nutrition and leadership related topics, and mentors to numerous student, interns and industry professionals.
