Born in the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Susan Sisarran majored in Agricultural Science in HS and has always loved being out in the luscious nature distinctive of her native Country. Once moved to NYC, she worked full-time during the day in the fine arts publishing industry while studying nights and weekends to obtain a degree in Business Management with a minor in Geology. Developed a love of different cuisines while working as an Executive Assistant to the CFO of a large NYC company where lunches were serious business.

Moved to Virginia in 2006 and developed a passion for the fascinating world of spices, starting a career at Burlap & Barrel, a B Corp building new international spice supply chains that are equitable, transparent, and traceable.
