Susan Reef is the President and Founder of US Food Safety Corporation. Ms. Reef oversees the daily operations of the company, its Twitter page (@foodsafeguru) that has over 400,000 followers, and award-winning blog. Ms. Reef was instrumental in creating the first consumer friendly platform for food recalls, allergen alerts and dietary product recalls. Before founding US Food Safety, she was a 10 year sales veteran in the food industry. She has been a guest speaker at the Boston University School of Investigative Journalism and has been interviewed for USA Today, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and Huffington Post Live among others.Ms. Reef broke the pistachio recall in Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc. in 2009 that involved over a million pounds of pistachios for Salmonella. The pistachio recall followed the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) that involved over 3,800 products. Because of overwhelming consumer concerns, Ms. Reef posted the peanut and pistachio recalls and the products that were safe to eat.Ms. Reef continues to post trustworthy food safety and food recall content that has attracted of noteworthy and celebrity followers. Ms. Reef continues to be an advocate for consumer food safety.
Ms. Reef graduated from Lesley University with a degree in education.
