The Mediterranean Diet Roundtable at Winter Fancy Food Show
        “Extra” Confused About Olive Oil?

Specialty Food Association Partners with Mediterranean Diet Roundtable for What’s NEXT in Food

NEW YORK, NY (December 16, 2019) The Specialty Food Association (SFA) has partnered with the Mediterranean Diet Roundtable (MDR), the host of internationally recognized, thought-leadership events that promote the value of the ingredients and practices distinctive to Mediterranean cuisine, to co-produce a new interactive attraction at their popular Winter Fancy Food Show. Recognized in 2010 by UNESCO as a Global Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Mediterranean Diet symbolizes a unique synergy between nature and culture distinctive of Mediterranean countries.

As part of the What’s NEXT in Food, MDR will also be offering an exclusive half-day seminar, ‘The Science of the Mediterranean Diet,’ a business-focused presentation for importers, exporters, buyers and manufacturing companies. This exclusive event is offered to SFA members at only $199, non-members $249, and can be selected by attendees when registering for the show.

”MDR promotes the importance of food as part of a healthier lifestyle as well as the cultural legacy of the Mediterranean diet. We’re thrilled to have them at the show to help us translate consumers’ interest in the diet into ways to build business,” said SFA President Phil Kafarakis. “What’s NEXT in Food will be the place to see what should be NEXT on your shelves or menus. MDR and our other partner for that area – the Fine Chocolates Industry Association – will educate and inspire SFA members and show attendees on leveraging their products in the food marketplace.”

“It is an honor to be part of the Fancy Food Show,” said Daniela Puglielli, MDR Founder. “Our team and our speakers are all very excited to bring a new layer of information to the most prestigious trade stage in America. This event pioneers a new, organic relationship between science, food ethics, and nutritional values.”

The Winter Fancy Food Show is a trade-only show held in San Francisco from January 19-21. For more information or to register for the show, please visit specialtyfood.com.
