Chef Daniel D. Skay is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York and has worked in restaurants, hotels, television, bed and breakfasts, catering and hospitals for over 30 years. Chef Dan is currently the Nutrition Manager and Executive Chef at Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus and Manna Restaurant.

In 1992, Chef Dan was the Grand Prize Winner of the Great Chefs of America Culinary Competition and also the Custom Foods Golden Recipe Competition. Other top accolades included winner of 1995 Premier Chefs of America, 1996 National Cully Award, 2000 Colorado Governor’s Symposium Celebrating Colorado Cuisine, winning Best Colorado Entrée, 2009 AHF National Culinary Competition Gold Medal Winner in Palm Springs, CA and the Wall Street Journals’ title of Hospital Top Chef. Chef Dan won the national 2014 AHF (Association for Healthcare Foodservice) Spotlight Award for Innovation in Healthcare, the 2014 NRA/MUFSO Best Concept Award, Foodservice Equipment and Supplies (FES) Onsite Tabletop Award Winner and First Honorable Mention for FES Facility Project of the Year for Manna Restaurant. Manna also won Best of the Best Award by Colorado Community Media for Best New Castle Rock Restaurant.
Chef Dan brings a zealous appetite for the extraordinary and is driven to surprise and delight Manna guests with healthy culinary creations. He has a passion for people and believes being a chef is a contact sport. He works hard to deliver knockout innovative dishes with global flavor profiles, while un-wrapping the gift of food with his guests.
